The early start was reflected in this slow paced first half as both teams tested each other, with Eagles eventually taking the lead through Ward. The 2^nd half was pretty much more of the same with these two well organised teams matching each other well and generally cancelling each other out, that was until Eagles keeper Reed’s goal-kick sneaked through a crowd of players to make it 2-0.

These teams worked hard in this tough encounter which saw both teams hit the wood work in the 1^st half. After the break Eagles tenacity and effort paid off as man of the match Ward stroked in from a corner. O’Connell scored with a trade-mark individual goal for 2-0 to Eagles and Chapman made it 3-0, as the ball deflected in from his corner.
