HAART OF KENT COUNTY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

DIVISION 1

Milton & Fulston United  0   v    Chipstead  2

Chipstead opened their season with a well deserved 2 – 0 victory away to Milton & Fulston United. Despite the loss of a few players from last season and the unavailability of several others on the day, the village side produced a top notch performance, which augers well for the rest of the season.

Chipstead started brightly and dominated much of the opening period only to fail in the final third. Liam Smith went closest to breaking the deadlock midway through the half when his header at the end of a superb Harry Greville run and cross glanced off the post.

Having dealt with some early pressure after the break, the village side stepped up the tempo and went close on a couple of occasions only to be denied by goal line clearances. Chipstead finally broke the deadlock on 75 minutes when Adam Steward and Jack Walker combined down the right, with Walker firing home from close range. Steward wrapped up the points soon after when he outpaced the home defence to fire low into the far corner.
