Chipstead 4 v Tudor Sports 1
After a run of two defeats, Chipstead faced title-chasing Tudor Sports, a team Chipstead beat in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Chipstead started the brighter and went ahead after 15 minutes when a quick break saw Ricky Rice strike a fine half volley passed the diving Tudor keeper. Despite the early dominance, Tudor came back into the game when a quickly taken freekick allowed the Tudor striker to ghost in and nod the ball past the on-rushing Leigh Hawkes to make it 1-1.
Chipstead
again came out the blocks fastest, scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes
to which Tudor couldn’t reply. The second came when a flowing move down the
left saw Dan Newnham cross for Ben Slade to poke home. Ricky Rice then bagged
his second, and Chipstead’s third, with a fine freekick from the edge of the
area. Stu Rawlins then completed the scoring with a penalty after Adam Steward
was felled by the Tudor keeper. Tudor couldn’t recover a failed to really
trouble the Chipstead goal.
