FRIENDLY MATCH

Halls  2   v    Chipstead  7

With no league fixture scheduled, Chipstead took the opportunity to try out a few new players in a hastily arranged friendly away to Kent County League Division 2 Halls.

The village side continued from where they left off last week away to Milton & Fulston United with another polished display. There were starts for new boys Dan Smith in goal, Richard English on the flank whilst youngster Charlie Hackshall came on for the last half hour. All were immediately signed on after the match.

It was all Chipstead from the start and it was only a matter of time before they took the lead, Peter Nolan netting with a tremendous strike into the roof of the net from all of 30 yards. The village side tormented the hosts with their pace and one touch football and added another couple through Jake Oke and Jason Hull, who was superbly set up by Liam Smith. Halls response was almost immediate with a great strike form the edge of the area.

Although Chipstead started slowly after the break, they soon got back in the groove with Oke adding a further 3 goals in an impressive display, and Hackshall’s superbly driven ball across the face of the goal being turned in by a hapless Halls defender. Halls netted a 2nd late consolation goal near the end.
