CHIPSTEAD FC successfully renews Charter Standard Club status - 21-11-2010

Chipstead FC joins The FA elite

Chipstead FC was celebrating this week after successfully renewing its status as an FA Charter Standard Club.

The FA Charter Standard Scheme is the best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League.

As a benchmark for quality the award will improve the playing experience for all.

A delighted Club chairman, Alan Black said “This award displays the club’s commitment to grassroots football in the area and it is pleasing to see that the club’s hard work has been rewarded with such a prestigious award”.

The club was formed in 1936 with the addition of a junior section in 2004. It runs junior teams from Under 6’s through to Under 17’s as well as 4 senior teams who play in the Kent County and Sevenoaks and District Football Leagues. The club has over 300 members and close to 40 volunteers, who work tirelessly to ensure the club continues to progress each season.

Kent County Football Development Officer, Lee Suter praised the club by saying “Chipstead FC has worked extremely hard to meet The FA’s criteria and having this award will benefit everyone involved within the club as well as the local community”

The Kent County FA are committed to club development and have set an ambitious target for having 75% of mini soccer and youth teams playing within a FA Charter Standard Club by 2012.

Suter went onto say “Club development is very important to the Kent County FA and as an Association we are committed to football development and will continue to work with clubs in order to achieve the Charter Award”.
