ALL CHANGE AS CHIPSTEAD LOOK TO RE-BUILD
It’s all change as Haart of Kent County League Premier Division Chipstead FC look to re-build after a difficult first season in the top division.
With 1st team manager Eddie Rawlins stepping down after 5 years in charge, due to increasing work pressures, the village club has moved quickly to fill the vacancy by appointing Percy Dalton, who has had previous management success at other local clubs. Percy is delighted to be joining Chipstead and is looking forward to the challenge ahead. Supporting Percy will be another newcomer in Laurie Humm, an experienced manager/coach and last year’s 1st team coach Chris Waters.
Club Chairman Alan Black is confident the new management team will soon get the club moving in the right direction. ‘I’m very pleased to get Percy on board, he has had success elsewhere and his man management skills allied to the exceptional coaching talents of Laurie and Chris will soon start to pay dividends. Those who have turned up for training cannot help but be impressed by the sessions put on by Laurie; we are very fortunate to have acquired his services. All round, I think we’ve got an excellent team in place, and we are all looking forward to the season ahead.’
Club training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the club’s home ground in Chipstead from 7pm onwards. A trials evening is planned for Tuesday 23rd July and anyone interested in joining the club is invited to attend. Please contact either Percy (07568 587069) or Alan (07753 603944) in advance so that we can make you welcome and answer any queries you might have.
